The market takes place every Sunday between the hours of 9.30 am and 4.00 pm, but is very popular with car booters earlyer.  To obtain a trading position simply turn up on site, as early as possible, and join our casual queue, there you will be allocated a position (vans on) by the market superintendent on a first come first served basis.  Our staff will be on site 3 hours prior to the advertised opening hours.  The cost of pitches will vary depending upon frontage occupied so it is advisable that you contact the office for updated information. To obtain a trading position on this market, simply turn up on the day, as early as possible, and join the casual queue. Empty pitches are allocated by the market superintendent on a first come, first serve basis. The cost of pitches vary so please call our office for up-to-date information.
The site is all hard standing with vans on and toilet facilities on site. Electric is available next to the toilets, however a small charge is levied. The site sits right in the middle of a busy town centre and a superstore, next to a church, for those wishing to “send messages” to “their father”.
The title of Saltcoats comes from its history as a salt mining town, and its shortened form of ‘The Salt Workers’ Cottages”. Saltcoats is situated alongside Ardrossan with its popular harbour and both are great tourist destinations. e market is advertised 52 weeks per year, in the popular Ayrshire Media Service Publication.

Ayr market and car boot is a very popular market, not only with the local community but for those thousands of visitors who flock to the Racecourse. Spook Erection first operated the market in 1997 and has continued on each week since.

The market is situated within the ground of Ayr Racecourse, Whitletts Road, Ayr, (sat – nav KA8 0JE) (Please do not send correspondence to this address). How to get there:- From Glasgow take the M8 then the A77. From the South take the A74, A70, A713 onto the A77 into Ayr. The Market is just outside Ayr and easily accessible via the dual carriageway, or follow the numerous signs for the Racecourse.

The site is all hard standing. It is complimented by its large car parks.  There are good toilet facilities and traders water available. We do not restrict any number of lines. All welcome.
The market takes place every Sunday between the hours of 9.30 am and 4.00 pm, but is very popular with car booters earlyer.  To obtain a trading position simply turn up on site, as early as possible, and join our casual queue, there you will be allocated a position (vans on) by the market superintendent on a first come first served basis.  Our staff will be on site 3 hours prior to the advertised opening hours.  The cost of pitches will vary depending upon frontage occupied so it is advisable that you contact the office for updated information. The ground stands in the beautiful countryside of Ayrshire and is home to the Scottish Grand National and Ayr Gold Cup.  The market operates all year round, with the exception of one or two weeks when race meetings are held on a sunday or if Christmas or New Year fall on that day.  Ayr is a resort on the Firth of Clyde at the mouth of the river Ayr and is a very popular tourist area, especially with the Irish.
(IMPORTANT INFORMATION) If you wish to trade on the market with a childrens ride, inflatables etc. prior to trading you must contact the head Office and provide an up-to-date Public Liability Certificate. Subject to space availability.
For any food vendors or caterers only.  It must be noted that the Local Authority require checks to be carried out before you are allowed to trade at this venue.
