About Arbroath

A former royal burgh and the largest town in the council area of Angus in Scotland, and has a population of 22,785.[1] It lies on the North Sea coast, around 16 miles (25.7 km) ENE of Dundee and 45 miles (72.4 km) SSW of Aberdeen. This year's annual Bell Rock Blues Festival takes place in Arbroath on the weekend of 24th/25th/26th August 2012, within 14 venues of varying size & intimacy - check the website (bellrockblues.com or whatsonscotland.com) for locations, & pick up a programme! The festival is, as always, free entry - we are grateful to our sponsors & advertisers ; other costs are covered by the venues . There are 34 bands, ranging from solo acoustic through to six piece - ensuring a stunning variety of styles, influences, & performance. A wonderful weekend of music is assured - come join the regular & veteran visitors (from all over Britain), plus the local music lovers, who enjoy this yearly high spot in Arbroath's entertainment calendar. With bands - new faces, & old favourites - from all over Scotland, to Tyneside & beyond, plus much loved & admired stalwarts from our own area, there will be a terrific atmosphere spanning 53 gigs. There are T-shirts available in every venue, so you can show your support. The venues are friendly (children welcome in suitably licensed premises) , serving quality refreshments, with some good auld craic thrown in! Just the weather to book, now !!
